WHO WE ARE
Bhartiya Samaj Charitable Trust is a Non-Profit organisation serving the community since 1995, founded by Mr. Jeet Suchdev QSM JP and Ms. Roopa Suchdev QSM along with other like-minded people. We are among the largest multi-faith South Asian Group with members from all over Auckland, with primary objective of ensuring that the people of the community are benefited by the various activities and programs undertaken by us on a regular basis ensuring foster friendly relations among the community members, by catering to their social, cultural and emotional needs.We offer a wide range of services through our Senior Citizens Wing, Children & Youth Wing, New Migrants Support Wing and Social Services Wing. We also work in co-operation with other Community Welfare organisations which are operating in Auckland region.

The Government of New Zealand has accredited Mr Suchdev with the honor of the “Queen’s Service Medal” for his contributions and service to the community. He also holds an honorary position of ‘Justice of the Peace’. In the year 1995, he laid the foundation of Bhartiya Samaj Charitable Trust, an organisation setup to assist the wider South Asian community settled in Auckland, New Zealand.
Ms Roopa Suchdev, a selfless and devoted social worker for the Communities of Indian origin and its neighboring Countries in NZ for more than 20 years. As a CO-FOUNDER/Trustee and Secretary of the Bhartiya Samaj Charitable Trust, she is a well-known and highly respected personality in the community.
Dr. Bruce Hucker is Senior Lecturer, National Institute of Creative Arts and Industries, The University of Auckland from last 20 years and has served the New Zealand Government for 9yrs as the Deputy Mayor, Auckland City Council.
Dr Ashraf Choudhary QSO JP is a former Member of New Zealand Parliament for three terms. He is also former Professor of Agricultural Engineering at Massey University in New Zealand. He has held many senior positions professionally and in community.
